Anatomy: Sponge

emblem

Not all sponges are created equal. This is a case of the right sponge for the right job. Plus: different colors allow for an easy system to remember which one to grab.

The sponge side of all Scotch-Brite® scrub sponges is made from cellulose, derived entirely from wood pulp—a renewable resource.

The Non-Scratch Scrub Sponge is made entirely of resilient synthetic fibers to easily slide into crevices and corners of all shapes and sizes.

Fifty percent of the scrubbing fibers in each Greener Clean Scrub Sponge are made from the agave plant, which makes this a choice you can feel good about.

The upper layer of the Heavy Duty Scrub Sponge is an outer coating of minerals that provides a rough surface to scrub off baked-on foods coating dishes and cookware.

Did You Know?

A cellulose sponge has a higher absorption capability compared to a sponge made of foam, making it better for wiping up messes. See for yourself.
